The founder, M. Jon Brown while studying accounting at a junior college, got his start at Newport Bookkeeping in Florence, Texas preparing tax returns, payrolls, and financial statements for farmers, ranchers, and small businesses in Central Texas.
In the thirty years since his start, M. Jon has worked for two Fortune 500 companies, a tax software company, small businesses, and tax-exempt organizations with 10+ years of his career spent in Central & Eastern Europe. During his time in Europe, he gained valuable knowledge on international taxes, and advising expatriates and non-residents on U.S. tax regulations and income tax treaties.
After completing his Associate’s in Arts degree, M. Jon moved from Central Texas to Iowa City and earned his Baccalaureate with Honors from the University of Iowa. Later, he completed his MBA at the University of Minnesota. In 2015, M. Jon completed the 3 exams to become an Enrolled Agent and has been licensed to practice with the IRS ever since. M. Jon is also a member of the International Business Honors Society, Beta Gamma Sigma, an award given to top business school students.
Thirty-two years after starting his career with a small income tax and bookkeeping firm, M. Jon has founded his own business, Corridor Taxes, to serve the needs of individuals, small businesses, and non-profits. M. Jon is a member of NATP (National Association of Tax Professionals) and the NAEA (National Association of Enrolled Agents).

Located in University Heights area in Iowa City, Corridor Taxes is an Authorized IRS e-file provider and Electronic Return Originator (ERO). Corridor Taxes is also an IRS Authorized Reporting Agent for employment tax returns.
